Nokia shall now be available on all major US carriers after the big launch of the new Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone at an event in London today along with flagship with T-Mobile in the United States. Nokia had also joined hands with Verizon in the US last week and had a flagship with AT&T carrier during the initial launch of Lumia 920 last year. The all new Nokia Lumia 920 device shall be ranged with Vodafone in Europe including Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK; with China Mobile and China Unicom in China.
This Windows device shall be available in the global market from June, this year and will be priced at approximately $610.00 USD.
Alike all other Lumia series, this 4G Nokia Lumia 925 focuses on its camera smart features such as PureView branding, Carl Zeiss optics and an image stabilization technique 8.7 MP lens. This Lumia is different from the rest of the series as it has 6 lenses in total. The sixth lens enhances the photo resolution in extreme sunlight unlike its fellow series devices. The phone includes new software – Smart Camera that includes a new experience of capturing and sharing photos. It also includes a burst mode that allows up to 10 shots in one time along with three new capture modes like the best shot, action shot and motion focus.
Jo Harlow, the Head of Nokia’s smart devices unit stated at the London launch that this new software will allow you to go back and edit your pictures time and again. This is one of the latest and a unique experience for all users as well as the Nokia Lumia range. This software facility is exclusively reserved for Lumia 925 initially but shall be taken forward to the Nokia Lumia Q3 with an update called Amber.
Continued efforts are being seen from Nokia against the growing demand of Samsung Galaxy series smartphones, but the lack of Instagram app for Windows phones again hampers the Nokia’s camera-focused approach. They have announced partnership with Oggl, a new photo community app from Hipstamatic; and since, Oggl is related to Instagram, consumers shall be able to access the Instagram service through the Oggl app.
When talking about the design, Nokia Lumia 925 is the first one to include a metallic trim with a silver aluminum band running around its edges. The mobile’s back is made of polycarbonate clad giving a two-tone look to this phone as well as making it easier to grip up in the hand. The weight of the hand-set is 139g; since heavy phones were criticized in the past. This phone is available in black, white and grey color options to match the plastic back.
The features of Nokia Lumia 925 include 4.5” AMOLED display with 1280 x 768 resolutions; 129 x 70.6 x 8.5mm dimension and 2000mAH battery allowing a talk-time of 12.8 hours on 3G and 6.6 hours video playback.
