Microsoft have a deal for you, but only if you’re willing to switch your gaming console.
“Trade up and get your hands on the new Xbox One,” says the offer on Microsoft’s website. “For a limited time, bring in your PS3, Xbox 360 S or Xbox 360 E and receive $100 of Microsoft retail store credit.”
Its showy “ditch your PS3” advertising push provides $100 (about £61, AU$114) of trade-in credit toward an Xbox One at the Microsoft Store in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. It’s not a bad proposal if you have a little old PlayStation 3. In fact, it’s also providing last-generation gamers the same exact amount if they trade in an Xbox 360 S or Xbox 360 E.
This is a forceful push by Microsoft to convert any stragglers from the last generation over to Xbox territory. The deal will last until March 2nd, so you’ve got just over a month if you want to take benefit of the offer. Microsoft has pulled the same tricks with both tablets and smartphones earlier.
The offer is only good in Microsoft retail stores – not online – and lasts until March 2. Dropping $100 makes the Xbox One the same price as the PS4, which starts at around $400.
