A pair of new Series 2 Chromebooks has been announced by Samsung and both will be featuring the faux leather, the one that made its presence remarkable on its Galaxy Note 3 phablet.

Samsung leads the Chromebook space in market and this time ditching the plastic feel Samsung is hoping to give you something a bit more elegant.

The Series 2 Chromebooks will come in 11.6 inch that will be priced at $320 and 13.3 inch model with a price tag of $400. The Chromebooks will hit the market in April, and for those who are eyeing for a laptop with Chrome OS but not in plastic casing, this will be an apt choice.

Talking about the specs, the Series 2 Chromebooks feature Samsung’s ARM-based Exynos 5 Octa chips running at either 1.9GHz or 2.1GHZ depending on the model with 4GB of RAM. An 8 hour of battery backup is claimed by Samsung for the smaller version and an 8.5 hour battery life for the bigger version, with 16GB of SSD storage inside.

Resolution display for the 13.3-inch model is Full HD (1,920 x 1,080), while the 11.6-inch model carries a lesser HD LED (1366 x 768) resolution display. About the extensions the Chromebooks will be carrying one HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and a microSD card slot. A 720p HD webcam is also onboard for Google+ Hangouts.

“Jet Black” and “Classic White” will be the color options for the 11.6-inch model and the 13.3-inch model will be available in only “Luminous Titan Gray”.

Keeping its popular $250 Chromebook on the market Samsung is going to offer more choice to customers with the new Series 2.
