This acquisition will help Dyn to launch a new Performance Assurance product line tho give customers the insights they need to make instant, intelligent decisions to boost the performance of their Internet enabled applications.
Renesys was founded in 2000 by Dr. Andy T. Ogielski and Jim Cowie and it monitors, collects, analyzes, and correlates Internet performance data. The four main products of Renesys include Internet Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Routing alarms and Internet Health Portal being very live in the most comprehensive way.
“Renesys’ global and granular visibility into the Internet will allow us to make better traffic and message decisions, helping our customers more efficiently connect with their audiences,” said Jeremy Hitchcock, Dyn CEO.
Dyn intends to combine Renesys’s Internet performance and geographic intelligence data into its own traffic and message-management solutions. Renesys’s suite of intelligence products will become the first product in Dyn’s new Performance Assurance product line, which will be provided inspite of its current traffic and message management services.
Dyn was founded in 2002. It has raised a total of $38 million. In a Q1 2014 report, the company noted 46 percent revenue growth in the first quarter compared to that of 2013, continuing Dyn’s 21-quarter streak of revenue growth, which dates back to 2009. Dyn itself is headquartered in Manchester.
Dyn basically works with companies with a big web presence to bolster their internet performance and Renesys’s experience providing internet monitoring information to ISPs will help Dyn better cater to its enterprise clients, including Twitter, Zappos, and Pandora.
The companies have been customers of one another in the past, Dyn said.“The acquisition of Renesys establishes Dyn as the premier Internet performance company,” said Jeremy Hitchcock, Dyn chief executive. “Renesys’ global and granular visibility into the Internet will allow us to make better traffic and message decisions, helping our customers more efficiently connect with their audiences.”
Renesys has a team of specialized scientists, researchers and analysts have been keeping the record the of the Internet 24/7, understands and evaluates the connectivity of every network, every service provider, markets in real-time, as global events, acquisitions and traffic patterns.
Renesys cat present has about 40 employees who will join the company, including its CEO Ashton Peery and Andy T. Ogielski. The team will still be working out of Renesys’s current Hanover, N.H., offices.
Dyn took on its first round of venture capital in 2012 with a $38 million investment from North Bridge Venture Partners.Dyn also has some very notable names as customers, including Twitter, Tumblr, Netflix, Pandora, Zappos, and Box.
