Samsung has started to roll out Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update for the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Wi-FI model

The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Wi-FI T310 tablet is now started receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. The update is Over The Air so you should get a notification message on your tablet.

However currently the update has been released only in France, but don’t worry as this is the global update so you should get Android 4.4.2 KitKat in the next few days.

Updating your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Wi-Fi tablet to 4.4.2 KitKat will make your device performance better.

Other improvements you’ll notice in the update are new white status bar icons, tweaked notifications menu, full-screen immersive mode for numerous applications, wireless printing support and lots more.

You’ll also get better battery life, better multi-tasking support for hundreds of Android apps and a new lock screen with camera shortcut.

The build number of this 4.4.2 KitKat update is set to T310XXUBNE9 with the build date set to May 31st. As usual the update will be rolled-out in stages so you might not get it right away, and once your device is eligible you’ll get a update notification.

Otherwise you can manually check for the update by going to Settings> About tablet> Software Updates section.
