TaskRabbit, for those who are unaware offers the option to buy “ch(b)oring” services to people who have the app. TaskRabbit is now debuting new client-side mobile apps for iOS and Android, as well as a new website.
The new version of TaskRabbit has been revamped and designed especially for clients, enabling them to find, hire and chat with “Taskers” quickly and easily. The service announced news of the change last month to ease the transition among the service’s users and providers.
- Matching algorithm
- One-Click Hiring
- Task insurance for Clients
- Hourly pricing
A company spokesperson told that the new “product is based on a couple of things: user feedback, and our marketplace and data science team diving into what was causing friction on our platform.” The service was tested in London for months prior to today’s service-wide relaunch.
With this announcement TaskRabbit’s old auction-house model will be substituted facilitating a traditional matching algorithm that pairs Clients and Taskers by site behavior, skill and task preferences, and availability. Clients are then given a stable of “suitable” Taskers, of whom they can choose based on experience, rating, or price.
It was founded in 2008 by Leah Busque. TaskRabbit is a website and mobile app that allows users to outsource small jobs and tasks to people in their neighborhood. Since June 17 when the new direction was announced, Brackett says, TaskRabbit has received 16,000 applications from new prospective Taskers there are at present 25,000 Taskers registered on the platform.
“Our aim is to provide a mobile experience that delivers the same quality as TaskRabbit.co.uk, coupled with the simplicity and flexibility that an app offers,” said our Founder and CEO, Leah Busque. “It’s perfect for busy parents and professionals who need valuable minutes back in their day. Wherever you are, a task can be set up within moments, meaning one less chore on your to-do list,” she said.
