ZTE has launched a new mid-range smartphone, the V5 at Rs. 10,999 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Remember, India is a big market for smartphones, but at the same time poses a tough competition because there are several national and international companies trying to gain their user base in India, especially in mid-range segment.
The ZTE V5 smartphone sports some decent specs when it comes to the price range of 10,999, and is quite enough for an average user.
The ZTE V5 features a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD IPS display with OGS and Dragontrail Glass and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
It comes with 4GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 13-megapixel rear Sony Exmor CMOS sensor with LED flash, and also houses a 5-megapixel front camera with BSI sensor.
The rear shooter comes preloaded with features such as lightmeter, autofocus, stabliser, special effects, Panorama, and face detection features.
It packs a 2400mAh battery which according to the online retailer rated to give up to 6 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time.
The ZTE V5 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the company’s Nubia 2.0 UI on top, and notably this V5 smartphone is the company’s first smartphone launched in India running Android KitKat.
Regarding connectivity options it comes with 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, Glonass, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. The ZTE V5 is currently available via an online retailer Snapdeal, but no word whether the handset will be also available at physical retail stores.
Snapdeal is also offering up to 1GB 2G/ 3G data per month for the first 3 months to prepaid Aircel subscribers who purchases the V5 smartphone.
