Chinese handset maker Vivo launches its first smartphone in India, the Vivo X5Max at Rs. 32,980

After launching in China, Vivo has launched the world’s slimmest smartphone in India, the Vivo X5Max, which is also the company’s first handset in India. The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 32,980, and the company said that the handset is now available via physical retail stores.

The Vivo X5Max is world’s slimmest smartphone, measuring just 4.75mm thick, leaving behind the current ‘slimmest smartphone in the world’ the Oppo R5, which measures 4.85mm.

The Vivo X5 Max features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (quad-core 1.7GHz + quad-core 1GHz).

It also sports Yamaha YSS-205X chip, coupled with 2GB of RAM and includes 16GB inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and Sony IMX214 sensor, while also housing a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper.

The Vivo X5Max runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with the company’s proprietary Funtouch OS 2.0 UI on top and offers dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and nano SIM) support.

It packs a 2000mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time, while includes connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, USB OTG, 3G and 4G LTE on both the SIMs.
