LG started to roll-out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its G3 flagship smartphone in India

A New Year treat to LG G3 users in India, as the company has started to roll-out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its G3 flagship smartphone.

Notably, the LG G3 users in Poland and South Korea have already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update earlier this month.

In India, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update it’s not yet available via the over-the-air (OTA), but can be downloaded and installed manually via the LG Mobile Support Tool.

The company has advised users to back up their data before continuing with the update method. The OTA update is expected to rollout to India shortly.

There are two different links, one for 16GB variant and another one for 32GB variant is available on the LG website. Users can visit the download page according to the storage variant of their handset, and select the Software Update tab in the Manuals & Download section.

After the update there will be host of new features added, such as lag free improved UI, new lock screen with notifications support, ART run-time instead of Dalvic for faster app loading time, improved battery management etc, and also a Siri/Cortana like app called “Voice Mate” has been added.
