Samsung, which recently at MWC 2015 unveiled its new flagship device, the Galaxy S6 alongside its curved variant the Galaxy S6 Edge, has reportedly received around 20 million pre-orders for these devices.
The report has emerged via Korea Times, citing company’s executive statement, who said, “Samsung received some 20 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge – 15 million of S6 and five million of the S6 Edge from mobile carriers, worldwide.
This is the record.” It’s worth mentioning that, Samsung made slight change in the design of the Galaxy S6 and it seems the strategy worked and till now the overall impressions of the two new Galaxy smartphones are positive.
Samsung further told to the publication that the initial response of both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is far better than last year’s flagship, the Galaxy S5. “To be honest, pre-orders of the two Galaxy variants from our major clients are really huge,” Shin told reporters.
