Are you someone who always find it difficult to get a product that you need occasionally, like a drill, ladder, camera, bicycle, travel, sports accessories, bag etc. Don’t worry, Rentomo can help you in finding those products when you really need them.
Rentomo, an online platform founded by Anshul Johri that allows you to borrow/rent everyday items you may only occasionally need – like a drill, ladder, camera, bicycle, travel, sports accessories, bag etc.
The start up provides a unique way to get the products you need occasionally and that from someone among your trusted network. Same time it also opens the door for people who want to make money from their unused or underused items lying at home and which they don’t want to sell either because they also need those products and use them occasionally. So the platform opens the door for both borrower and lender.
Rentomo was co-founded by Anshul Johri, who’s worked at ecommerce giants like Amazon, Bookadda, AskLaila, and Ibibo and Shubham Maheswari, who’s also worked at Amazon and Flipkart.
The process is pretty simple, if you want to rent your products on Rentomo you can simply upload those items on Rentomo and start sharing within your community. Why does everyone feel the need to purchase their own private set of consumer items – a hammer, outdoor tent, badminton rackets, bag-packs, bicycle, medical equipment, etc. – That everyone else has, and that lie unused most of the time?
The company feels that more and more consumers will start to realize that access to stuff is actually cheaper, more convenient and greener than ownership. And there are many live and successful examples we can find of peer to peer sharing like Airbnb, Uber, Spinlister etc.
But the big question that could stuck in anyone’s mind is, how are we going to trust the other person? That is where the technology plays a role, the company is building a tech enabled platform to provide you the richer experience of sharing stuff among your trusted communities/societies/colleges/companies/groups/friends etc. Company’s mission is to form a sharing city where users have instant access to everything in their neighborhood. The vision is to see every city becoming a sharing city.
