Flat sharing platform Homigo has grabbed $200,000 in seed funding round from individual investors some based out of Bengaluru and some abroad. Homigo provides working professionals with fully-furnished houses on a shared basis.
The startup was founded by three IIT Kanpur graduates – Nikunj Batheja (CEO), Jatin Mitruka (COO) and Aakash Verma (CTO) in July 2015, and in just a span of 3 months it managed to get funding from national and international investors.
They take houses from owners on rent and furnish them with their own all relevant items and appliances such as furniture and electronics, household objects like cutlery, utensils etc. They also take care of management of electricity and Internet so that people can move into the new homes without any problems.
The startups is aiming to reach around 10,000 beds in the coming one year spread across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai. However, the new funding will be used only for the expansion in Bangalore and has set the target to reach 500 beds.
They are also planning to launch a smartphone app in the coming weeks.
