No wonder health and fitness is a hot technology sector at the moment. Not only giants like Google and Apple are showing interest in this niche but a range of startups are also offering their services to inspire people and help them keep track of their efforts and exercise levels.
FITSO, a Gurgaon based fitness mobile app startup is one such example of this trend, as it promises users to be their ‘True Fitness Partner’.
With increasing salaries and a hefty lifestyle, people are realizing that it’s high time to follow a regular workout plan. “Craze of running and healthy lifestyle in India is growing exponentially and we want to tap this growth and play a phenomenal role in India’s fitness sector” – Rahool Sureka, co-founder at FITSO.
But fortunately, a large chunk of Indian population is not aware of the fitness options available to them, and that’s exactly when products like FITSO play a handy role in bridging the gap.
Aiming to build an outdoor fitness community and working as a social network for fitness freaks in India, FITSO allows its users to seamlessly connect with other likeminded people and discover activities of their interest – while on the go. Users can post their activity of interest – among various activities like Running, Cycling and Yoga, among others – and explore what other people and groups are doing in their close vicinity.
The idea is to connect people to train and practice different activities together. And the plan seems to be working. The app provides a clean UI and UX interface, helping users to understand and access its various services easily. Other than its primary functionality of acting as a network for fitness enthusiasts and experts, its in-app ‘Leader board’ feature is quite cool, which acts as an excellent driving feature to promote healthy competition among users.
FITSOs founding team consists of three IIT Delhi graduates – Saurabh Aggarwal, Naman Sharma, and Rahool Sureka. Naman worked at Zomato for four years before taking up the role of Technology and Product Head at FITSO. Rahul worked at Yepme and UrbanClap and is now the startup’s Marketing and Strategy Head. Saurabh worked at Flipkart in Business Development before quitting to pursue his passion for adventure sports. Apart from the three founders, the team consists of Ajitesh Abhishek and Kaushal Mishra.
FITSO App is currently live only on Android platform and available to download via Google Play Store. The iOS version will go live by the second week of December.
