Customers looking for a cheap and easy to control high-quality camera drone might not have to wait much longer. A new, palm-sized drone, called the ONAGOfly, is about to start shipping in March 2016, and it has already raised $1.8 million on Indiegogo with 9000 backers.
Along with having the capability to take 1080p HD video with a 15 MP camera, the ONAGOfly is able to track and follow the user using GPS. For flying controls, the drone can be easily controlled using one’s smartphone and is able to take off from one’s hand. A built-in “Smile Detection” feature allows for automatic picture taking all while ONAGOfly avoids obstacles using its infrared sensors.
It looks like other drone companies, like Lily, could be facing a real competitor very soon, especially since this new drone is small enough to fly in the United States without having to be registered with the FAA. What do you think?
