Without creating much hype, Lenovo has launched a new smartphone in Indonesia, the Vibe P1 Turbo. It’s the ‘Turbo’ variant of company’s Vibe P1 smartphone. It is a mid-range device and has been priced at IDR 3,999 (roughly Rs. 20,000).
The smartphone is now up for pre-orders in Silver, Graphite Gray, and Gold color variants. Right now, the company has not said anything regarding the availability of the handset in other regions.
The dual-SIM (micro+micro) Android 5.1 Lollipop running Vibe P1 Turbo comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with pixel density of 401ppi and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
However, the company’s product page mentions both 2GB and 3GB of RAM variant of the handset.
The smartphone sports a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera, while also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. The internal storage is 32GB storage which supports storage expansion via microSD card up to 128GB. The handset is equipped with a 5000mAh battery.
The VIBE P1 Turbo comes with Quick Charging feature. “When VIBE Turbo P1 runs out of battery, Quick Charge feature provides the opportunity to talk for hours simply to charge for 5 minutes. Power saver to save your battery. And with USB-on-the-Go, you can both provide help for other devices, including data sharing,” as mentioned on the product page.
It includes connectivity options like NFC, USB OTG, FM Radio, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, and Wi-Fi Hotspot. It also packs a fingerprint sensor on the Home button to enhance the security.
Last month, Lenovo launched a budget Android smartphone in China, the Lemon 3 priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000).
