Twitter has launched GIFs search feature on iOS, Android and web. The company announced that it will making it’s available to all users. It was recently testing GIF’s on its user shere. The test went well as it was based on user’s Gif tweets. Twitter said that GIF search will become available to iOS, android users over the coming weeks. The button will work for composing public tweets and sending DMs also, added company spokesperson.
Here the search feature was powered by Riffsy and Giphy, two of biggest repositories of GIFs on the internet and the same two companies which were behind the GIF search feature in Facebook Messenger. Users can select GIFs on Twitter using its range of pre-selected categories like awesome, agree, dance etc.
Twitter stated that its user shared over 100 million GIFs last year. This enormous figure was no doubt helped by fact that GIFs autoplay inside users timelines. It was good job to take this new mute button for anyone taking its new feature much far.
