After the overwhelming response from the OnePlus One, the Chinese smartphone company OnePlus had launched the OnePlus 2 flagship smartphone back in July last year. Now after being quite for a long time, the company has finally thrown some information regarding its upcoming OnePlus 3 handset.
According to a report from Cnet, Carl Pei, Co-Founder of OnePlus, said that the OnePlus 3 is expected to launch “at the end of the second quarter.” It is also reported that the OnePlus 3 will be coming in a new design, and Pei believes that the new design will be loved by users as much as its first smartphone, the OnePlus One launched in 2014.
The OnePlus 3 will be sold directly by OnePlus as an unlocked smartphone in the US and other markets as well. It’s worth noting that the OnePlus 2 was the first handset in the market to feature the USB-C type port, which later came in other devices as well including Gionee S6, HP Elite x3’ Windows 10 Mobile, Nexus 6P, and recently launched flagship devices like LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi 5 among others.
Pei also hinted that the company may also come up with a “better buying process”, details of which were not disclosed. The company from starting has followed the “invite system” for selling its devices that helped it in scaling operations while at the same time engaging the community with the new product.
The company said that it will be shipping its smartphones free of cost and will be accepting payment via credit card, rather than only PayPal payments.
