DriveU bags around $1mn from Unitus Seed Fund

DriveU, on-demand driver provider for private cars has bagged $1 million in investment seed round from Unitus Seed Fund. This raised capital would be utilized for expanding its operation across ten cities from four at present.

The company in June 2015 was setup by Ashok Shashtry, Ramprasad Shashtry and Amulmeet Singh Chadha. The startup is operated by Humble Mobile Solutions Pvt Ltd.

DriveU aims to enhance the technology in order to provide better customer experience. it is also focusing driver verification, training methods and on road commute experience for shopping, running errands, business meetings, airport drops and pickups, day to day commuting and to attend social events dining at restaurant bar, concerts, parties and weddings  and more.

A customer can book a driver using the DriveU app or from the company’s website. The app is available to download from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. With app’s assistance, users can book its nearest available DriveU driver and can track while driver is on route to customer pickup location. Once booking is confirmed and all necessary information like driver’s name, rating, phone number, picture, distance from customer pick up point, location and estimated time of arrival is offered.

The company is reported to have served over 15,000 trip to over 6,000 customers and out of this 60% are women, since its beginning. It is presently offering its services in four cities, Chennai Mumbai, Bangalore and recently in Delhi.
