It seems that the change of name for ‘iPad Air 3’ as ‘iPad pro’ is giving rise to more speculations that the Cupertino based company would be doing the same for its iPhone series as well. Although there is no official announcement from the leading iPhone maker and rumour itself is questionable as it would split and break Apple’s iPhone lineup.
The rumour was shared by Chinese website MyDrivers regarding the high-end iPhone 7 Plus with dual cameras could be named the “iPhone Pro,” Apple is reportedly considering the name to distinguish the device from the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, said to include standard single-lens cameras.
As per suggestions from expert analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities, Apple is working on two versions of the iPhone 7 Plus, one with a single-lens camera and one with a dual-lens camera, to be sold alongside an iPhone 7 with a single-lens camera. Kuo firmly believes hat is Apple’s plan and has mentioned it in two separate research notes. The numerous reports from My Drivers are being viewed with skepticism as none of the devices whose details were shared on My Drivers has launched. Hence, the site’s accuracy is still in question.
Well, we can wait and watch as even after hearing and seeing various rumours about the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, they are not expected to debut until the fall of 2016. In addition to an iPhone 7 Plus version with dual cameras, both devices are rumored to include a water resistant body, no headphone jack, and a design that does away with the rear antenna bands and protruding camera.
