The leading Chinese smartphone manufacturing company ‘Vivo’ seems to be breaking more records these days with it’s X series of smartphones. After launching ‘Vivo X5 Max’ which was termed as the slimmest smartphone till now ( thickness 4.75mm) , the technology company is setting a benchmark once again for others by launching ‘Vivo Xplay5 Elite’ as world’s first smartphone with 6GB of RAM.

Moreover, it is also the second non-Samsung device after the BlackBerry Priv to pack a screen that’s curved on both sides. A more affordable version ‘Vivo Xplay5’ featuring 4GB of RAM was also launched at the event in Beijing, China.

Of the two devices launched in China, the dual-SIM Vivo Xplay5 Elite is more powerful and made of metal with Gorilla Glass 4 coating body.

The handset also features a dual curved 5.43-inch Super Amoled display with QHD (1440×2560 pixels) resolution similar to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge models. Now, this is a much faster device with 6GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU as it’s highlight. Moreover, it is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, the quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz.

You can go for real quality pictures with Xplay5 Elite which apart from an 8-megapixel camera on front side, also sports a 16-megapixel rear camera powered by Sony IMX298 sensor, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), 6P Lens, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash.

On the connectivity front, the Xplay5 Elite supports 4G LTE networks (Indian bands included), Hi-Fi 3.0 (2*ES9028+OPA1612), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, Micro-USB (with OTG).Now Store more with 128GB of inbuilt storage and non-expandable doesn’t look bad as 128 GB is much more than enough for general users. Also, including a fingerprint sensor, the Xplay 5 from Vivo is backed by a 3600mAh battery.

The new smartphone looks slim and light measuring 153.5×76.2×7.59mm, and weighing 167.8 grams. The device also comes with a bunch of sensors – gravity, ambient light, proximity, and gyroscope. Incuding split-screen multitasking functionality.The ‘Vivo Xplay5 Elite’ runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Funtouch OS 2.6 skin on top.

Price and Availability

The smartphone will hit the stores in China starting March 8 and pricing roughly Rs. 44,300 (CNY 4,288)
