With the upcoming release of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Steam gamers have found that much of their favorite content is no longer available. MyDream Swift is an app that seeks to change this by bringing old Steam games into the new generation of virtual reality.
While Swift is optimized for FPS games, the user can try any DX9 or DX11 game with the software. For non-FPS titles, MyDream Swift has a cinema mode that can display a “near distant” virtual screen to play with a virtual headset.
The Swift UI is relatively simple and straightforward, and the software is able to convert with lossless quality while maintaining 90hz render times. MyDream will be offering demos in San Francisco this week for anyone who might want to try out its product.
Swift is available for pre-order now for $29.99, and the app will be released for download on March 28. The pre-order cost also includes MyDream VR, a creative community game that allows players to construct a 3D world in VR.
