VR is still in its early stages of development, and its roles in commercial and professional, household and business use are largely still in development. Starbreeze is one company that works on more high-end VR units, for use in amusement marks and movie theaters.
Starbreeze has been investing a lot into its StarVR headset. Along with partnering with Acer, Starbreeze has recently acquired the Belgian visual effects and VR content creator Nozon for $7.75 million.
One of the technologies that Starbreeze is hoping to add to its products through this acquisition is the parallax tool PresenZ, which can offer smoother pre-rendered animated experiences to VR users. This can allow for a more immersive experience, and, according to the companies, can offer movie-level definition at room scale.
