Uber VP of product and growth Ed Baker has just left the company after three years of service, with Uber head of marketplace Daniel Graph taking his place as interim VP of product and growth.

In an e-mail, Baker reportedly said, “I have always wanted to apply my experience in technology and growth to the public sector. And now seems like the right moment to get involved.”

Still, the circumstances surrounding Baker’s departure are not without intrigue. Uber has been facing a host of problems as of late, including Senior VP Amit Singhal resigning due to an undisclosed sexual harassment allegation and reports of the company using software tools to evade law enforcement. Baker himself was reportedly accused of engaging in sexual encounters with another employee before his resignation.
