MicrosoftMicrosoft is a Redmond, Washington headquartered technology company and world’s largest software maker by revenue. It was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates on April 4, 1975 to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for Altair 8800. Now the company develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, smartphones and personal computers and services. It also manufactures gaming console called the Xbox and tablet computer, the Microsoft Surface. Its flagship product in the software lineup is the operating system for personal computers, called the Microsoft Windows besides other software like Microsoft Office office suite, and Edge web browsers. In 2013, Microsoft acquired Nokia’s devices business for $7.2 billion to form Microsoft Mobile Oy and re-entered into the smartphone hardware market.
